Behind the sounds of silence.

Behind the sounds of silence.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Behind the sounds of silence.
When man was silent
he was thinking.
When woman was quiet
the mood was dangerous
        unnerving,
        unswayed
          the air
           silent,
        unsettling.
        Meanwhile
 outside, one clearly saw
   by the clouds colour
    A storm approaching.

I've experienced this often, though also the other way round; the silence before the storm bursts out and onto oneself. Nicely expressed.
