out of step

out of step

A Poem by andrew mitchell

out of step
The winds of time
sweep over the terrain
I once played.
Echoes of laughter
lingers in moments,
of childhood pleasures.
Across the creek,
the discovery, gone.
stepping stones
no longer in step
with time.

Your words struck home with me. A creek ran by our house, skating in winter, splashing in summer...days gone but not forgotten. Valentine

Childhood memories are not gone, nor are the new discoveries yet to be made. You simply have to start the search again, perhaps start with the child still within us.

we used to play in the creeks, my buddy and i...would try to ride our bikes through it...not easy...ha ha...
