How do you like your messages?

How do you like your messages?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

My thoughts vibrate
On corrugated roads
Of dust and dirt, rising.
Travelling through clouds
Of slumber, on the wings
Of an eagle, falling.

Flowing down the pen
Onto paper, sealed.
On the wheels of time
Motorized, carried
By mechanical birds
To your door, the letter.

In the new modern  age
Hammered are the thoughts
On keyboard letters
Forming words that flutter
On the wings
Of technology;
Sent.

How do you like your Messages?
Sent on send?
Or in time,  with travel?

I prefer the long hand of letters, the dying art of stationery paper with matching envelopes. Of course, it's a lost art, just like buying cards in retail, and actually mailing them!

I like your reference to "mechanical birds"..."forming words that flutter". Very clever, Andrew!

I'll take the email please with chips. I could never go back to that snail mail - unless it was for the right person... ;)
