Come out come out wherever you are!

Come out come out wherever you are!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Where do thoughts come from?
When expressed.
When they rise to the surface.
Here I am!
A thought!
Where do thoughts go?
Is a thought just a thought?
Do we have many thoughts?
Or does one thought rule
Ever changing by emotions!
The thoughts of love
Where do they hide
When not in love?
The thoughts of despair
Where do they hide
When one is happy?
The thought that cries!
The thought in anger!
What happens to that thought
When fired, retired.
Does it sleep?
What thoughts reminds us
Of other thoughts
We forget?
Why doesn't the forgotten thought
Speak out! I'm over here!
Is there more to thoughts!
A penny for your thoughts!
Can you buy one?
A thought for the day!
People say: Spare a thought!
I don't know how many
Spares I have to spare!
Food for Thought!
Perish the thought!
Thoughts could rule
The mind if not contained.
And if you are not thinking,
Where are the thoughts
On vacation. Sleeping?
That's a thought!
Am I being thoughtless!

Thank you dear Poet!
That way madness lies. I love thinking about thoughts, the mind and all the intricate paths they weave in the background, which grow and evolve into the soundtrack of our lives and who we become. It is an obsession with me. Right now I am reading about mirror neurons in a V.S. Ramachandaran book (the guy is a genius). A quick example of his more than thoughts on thoughts is....If we were both sitting in a room that could take a scan of our brain activity, and were chatting across the table, when you took a sip from a drink, our brains image would be identical, despite the fact that you carried out the action and I only observed it. All the neurons and connections firing away, as you first look, thenpick up the drink, take some, place It back down, then carry on talking would match mine, despite the fact I only observed. They work by mimicking the actions you see as if you have done them. It is awesome reading, but too complex for a poetry review, so well done, nicely captured etc etc :)

Thank you Doodley for your words and dropping by
Mind-bogglingly splendid!
You always deliver. ALWAYS.

Thoughts make things. So often, we come across the power of thoughts, the value of synchronicity and such like, but the exact texture and grain of thought is spoken but not written of in poetry. This is really a thought-provoking insight, Andrew. Keep it up.

And thanks for sharing.

Best, M.
