I turn the page

I turn the page

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I turn the page
You ask: "A new life?"
"To finish the story?"
No! I'm just turning the page.
Tired of the old
A curiosity calling,beckoning.
Bored! What's new the other-side?
I want my thoughts
Excited, intrigued,
Exploring!
Where is it?
My refresh button!
From the daily grind
Thoughts sinking
In routine's quicksand
Decaying, old, bog-mire!
Suffocating, dying!
Thoughts outstretched
Reaching out, save me
I turn the page.

Thank you MD for your kind words and will return the love soon
This sounds like a good idea for a lot of us. Refresh, start over again...just turn life's page. Interesting way to put these thoughts. Valentine

Nice if we did have a refresh button lol. Well articulated feelings in verse and food for thought Andrew.

Thank you my fellow Scotsman John (as Scots blood does flows through me veins) for your kind words
It is good to turn pages, my friend, as often as we need to. There is nothing like trying to take a fresh look at ourselves and the world around us. Love the way in which you approach these types of topics; always creative and original. Well-done, my friend!
