The unease of being watched

The unease of being watched

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The trees bare, knotted
With talons stretched
Feeling your presence
They move, they summon
They're hungry.
There's a quiet.... unease.
You walk their winding path
Dark, a mouth you enter
Of branches hung over.
You, .... alone
They whisper
They talk
They watch.

This feels like them poor Hobbits walking in that forests and the
trees came alive.:-) In reality this is equivalent to a paranoia feeling
when walking to a room and everybody knows your deepest and
darkest secret, an eerie sensation. Wonderful piece my friend, as always! :-)

Thank you EG TEN for your words
Love this,Andrew... reminds me of when i was a kid, walking home from my grandmother's house in the darkness (no street lights) of night... walking always turned to running because I always felt I was being watched...

Sending shivers up my spine,
I can feel their presence
Hear their soft whisper
nipping at my neck
I quicken my pace
Fear rising
stomach summersaulting
Bile burning the back of my throat
Do I dare to look back?

Sorry could resist this amazing write inspired me so much AM ...awesome !!

Very mysterious Andrew. I have not read of all of your work but I am surprised from what I have become use to. Diverse you are when I read this mysteriously haunting piece. Nicely done.

Thank you for the kind words Robert
Now and again you stray from your out pouring of humour to write something profound and this is one such piece Andrew! Great depiction of the title in a crisp free verse.
