The Headache

The Headache

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Swerving recklessly
A thought drunk.
Going too fast, too fast;
No brakes!
"IS TROUBLE! "
Can a thought be
In the wrong place?
Where it shouldn't be?
Is a  headache an accident
By two thoughts crashing
Head on?
One wounded, one a fatality
Crashed on cranial walls.
Or crashed in mid-air;
Being light-headed.
Still the headache remains
Are the party of thoughts still drinking?
Turn the music down!
Lights out at twelve.

Thoughts crashing...me love that, but you know when good thoughts crash, there is no headache not unless you get that headache out of making merry and taking lots of booze as a way of enjoying..lol

lol lol Thank you Cassie
So I don't drink....but I love the thought of thoughts crashing....makes what seems like a short fun poem morph into something that really has depth and texture...although your writes are also always fun to read :0)

Hi Andrew. Back for a temporary session!!! The head is fogged with flu!!! Anyway, will do what I can before I go back to bed. I truly think you have written this poem for my head at this moment!!! Tried to laugh, because it is so funnt, but only managed a weak smile. Does that tell you how bad I feel!!! alf

This is such an interesting and creative poem AM!
I don't think I've ever read anything even similar to this.
It makes the reader think - least in my opinion! lol.

lol...of course it would be ..duh!! lol
Andrew, only you could create these kinds of scenarios and pose these very valid questions... the crashing of two thoughts, perhaps one or both in the wrong place at the wrong time... you are the thought party thrower, the thought police and the thought bar keep... another round of thoughts!! No? ... what do you mean we have to go... I want to talk to the..... take your hands off of me... I'll give you light headed... lol
