The Heart's last dance

The Heart's last dance

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I dance the tango
My footprints softly on her.
Her love was a dream, she made come true
The warmth of our dance still remains....

Wow! Passion flows through this piece. I believe this write has zoomed to the top of your poems. this is strong, sensuous, nostalgic and sad, all in one short verse. Love the brevity, any more would be too much, any less would be devastating~!! Perfect balance!!! alf

Andrew (and I thank sereena for bringing this piece to my attention), At first I thought "This one leaves me wanting more," but after reading it again I recognize that it ended as it was written...perfectly. This is an incredibly beautiful piece of art. I am happily placing it into my library favorites. My highest compliments! take care...dan

Better to have loved and lost
So much bittersweet atmosphere in this
The record plays on and the memories remain well beyond the dance
I enjoyed this a lot Andrew.
Pure Class.

thanks Anto captured well your comments:)
Lovely little write..Yours and Sereena's fit so well together...I know yours was the original, but it makes it mutual dance as a pas a deux rather than a solo performance with only a memory. The last line gives an clear invitation for return..smiles for that bit of nostalgia. Lovely!

Its a beautiful colab.
I read Sereena's response first, and now as I read the original poem, its understandable why she wanted to write a response. Its a beautiful tango of love here... Lovely :)
