A Spirit of people died

A Spirit of people died

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Empty are the drum beats...flat
Its heart, the Cherokee
Pillaged, robbed;
....land, no more
From White eyes.
Their spirit dead
As the white eagle
Above soars.

Soooooooooooo very true!!!
A very sombre piece this Andrew with sympathy for misdeeds done to an indigenous and creative culture of people.
