The final lamentA Poem by andrew mitchell
My weathered wells of tears are empty
My thoughts just burning embers; The final curtain falls on memories remembered. My heart of desire, no longer the fire. As love and passion are ashes, gone. My final breath, my spirit expelled; Free from prison walls. Beaten by age, decay; no longer entrapment Caged within rattling bones. But free to fly at last To the blue sky of heaven's above.
