JUST DRIVE HE SAID!

JUST DRIVE HE SAID!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I'm speeding I'm loving the feel
I turn on the lights. I up the gear.
I look at the speedometer increasing
20, 30, 40, 50,  over the limit.
I just don't care
I'm speeding;
Fast, furious, reckless
In higher gear. I'm free at last! Ha! Ha!
Oh! No!      No!         No!
I see red, blue lights flashing.
Flashing red, blue, red, blue.
I'm finished,
They're looking for me.
The poetic police
In poetic pursuit
Of me and my thoughts.
Shall I pull over
And lose my thoughts;
Arrested, imprisoned, lost?
Shall I let them give chase?
Catch me if you can!
No! I decide to stop.
Poetic police open my door.
Exposing my thoughts
Naked to view.
We have clocked your words
Fifty kilometres per hour over the safety limit.
"What do you have to say for yourself, Sir?" asked the Poetic Police
"Poetry in Motion" I replied.
"Good answer Sir!" replied the Poetic Police.
"Drive on!"
Oh! I will!...

Thank you bill lol
I have little to say, but a fun piece while on the run. I am glad they found your crime was sublime and released you to continue the climb to the top of the world with your words. That really is best. Nicely done.

Hahaha.....did you write this after seeing Fast 7? Such a playful poem. Love the concept- a traffic police even for your thoughts. I wish i had one of those. Love this one Andrew :D Thanx for the RR

Man, that was close. It's good you were on your game or it could have been another crumpled page in the can. Well-done!

Thanks Ft lol
Wonderful! Hang convention and the poetic police, it's the journey the poet takes the reader on that counts.
