LOVE/LUST.

LOVE/LUST.

A Poem by andrew mitchell
"

My dear friend alf challenged me to a numbers poem

"
Love
Lust
Both emotions
Love or lust.
Each a four letter word.
A physical endearment; a need to share, nurture.
Close to the heart
I know lust.
That very lust that cannot be tamed.
Love
To hold, to embrace, to have, to caress.
A love beating in sync;two hearts as one.
The shortest distance between two hearts is love.
An emotional yearning from the moment of birth.
A love that flows like a river.
Love, before love is washed away.
I know this feeling
Lust
That need, desire; she's mine
I expose her beauty I lust!
Make love
Warm my heart, save my soul, my love.
Love
Everybody  needs someone to love; Its lust that burns.

This is Brilliant AM, you will have everyone giving their opinion on this now... so here is mine lol ! I think they can be completely separate or go hand in hand! You can lust someone without loving them, you can love someone without lusting after them and when the 2 come together..soul mate!

Alf gave you the challenge and I give you the award for writing such a lovely poem. Applauds... the comparison you put forward and the way you triumph love over lust is really wonderful... great job AM. Simply beautiful :)

Love doesn't burn you say? I still don't know where lust ends or love begins..And I still dont know if one can completely exist without the other. Sereena is right. U are definitely gonna get a lot of opinions on this :D

Thank you alf your great review was much appreciated
This sounded like a waterfall cascading over an endless drop (lust) while also like the great expanse of an ocean (love).......you summed it up well, "everybody needs someone to love".....sadly, I wonder if most people do.......feelings often have a way to camouflage them as love, right? :)

Interesting flowing poem which may spark a debate on the veracity of lust as you portray it as nurturing? Both are indeed feelings side by side but in love is lust simply lust? Some interpretations of lust is that it is 'uncontrollable and completely unreasonable' whereas desire for a loved one is rarely so?
