RAIN

RAIN

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I see rain,
Heavy rain
Outside my window.
Washing my every thought.
Its loudness
Permeates , reverberates
Refreshing my mind
Removing the rubbish
That clouds my mind.
I love rain
Cleanses the Earth
Cleanses my mind
With the watery view.
No pitter patter
Just heavy rain.

Hi Andrew. Should've watched the damned weather map!!! I can see you, out on that terrace, not wanting to leave the sight of rain and waxing lyrical in the mind. Loved this!! I was born in New Zealand, I MISS the rain!! alf

Sometimes not the trickle but the flood we need. We need to be overwhelmed, to be shaken up, to be so taken up with the present that we flush out the past. I love the simplicity and clarity with which this need is expressed. A poem much appreciated.
