I DRIFT

I DRIFT

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In my ocean of emptiness
I drift, drift
Hanging onto my thoughts
like driftwood I drift,
Riding the crest of  my every thought.
I drift,drift
The emptiness sometimes, dark and murky
Or bright clear days of soft azure blue.
Fish consuming my long lost memories
Sometimes I just drift,
And like an ocean
No where in particular.
I  just drift, drift.......
                              and somewhere is home.

Home is where the heart is. Drift, drift all you want but take your love with you. If you have no love become a wild man, be passionate and crazed until your love is found, and then together drift and home will come to find you. A most wonderful poem. Love the fish line.

I know all about drifting, I do it on occasions. Just mentally checking out and letting things take its course until you come back around. Awesome write. :)

Hi Andrew. What a wonderful piece of reverie. I know where you are, in that pleasant state of nowhere where nothing impacts on your mind, and the thoughts are transient and fleeting. You express this so well. Another diamond, and I love it, alf

Thanks alf I do a lot of drifting
Some jellyfish beautiful but with a sting if you poke them just drift - and still they thrive; still they find a mate; still they get from A - to B. Nothing wrong with drifting my friend. Can be cool.
You conveyed the bobbing feeling excellently.

Fantastic write! Drifting certainly happens but if you find yourself at home
after that drift, you have made some wise decisions along the way:)
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

You inject the feeling of being untethered in this and it feels forlorn. Being alone and rootless is not pleasant.
