THERE'S FOOD ON THE TABLE

THERE'S FOOD ON THE TABLE

A Poem by andrew mitchell
"

... because I'm hungry!

"
There's food on the table
Food of different kinds,
Food you find on your travels,
Food that remains on your mind.
Food to be eaten hot,
Food to be eaten cold.
Leftovers sit in the pot;
Some are recipes of old.
Food to be eaten quickly,
Food to be taken slow,
Food for the finicky,
And food for on the go.
And when there's food on the table
And there's food on my mind
I eat when I'm able
Just to be satisfied.
Ah! the food to be made!
Ah! the food to be bought!
They all start from cravings
And are all food for thought.
And while's there food on the table
I'll be bursting from the sides
Such over indulgence
For how I love to dine.
