WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE?

WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I often wonder
What it would be like
To be a bird taking flight;
Soaring high in the sky,
Surveying the land with hawk-eye.
Just to be up there where it's free,
Taking in the sights one can see,
Floating, diving, feeling the wind,
And to the nest to feed the kin.
But what would happen if I was a worm?
To be just a worm beneath the ground
I'd have to be careful not even a sound
For if I'm found, I will take flight
In a bird's beak and then it's goodnight
I think I'll stop wondering ......
                                          And just be me!

I am a fan of your little twist endings, taking us down one path to flip onto another! fun read and a great write. I think to fly free like a bird to have that ability and control (no not planes, or sky diving which is just falling ..slowly) but to glide with confidence,,,,would be awesome...just saying lol

I wonder how you wonder such things AM. What an image of small little creatures that we usually overlook or do not pay attention to. tiny little details you used. Wonderful work :)

Very transcendentalist! I enjoy this, but I think Id rather be the bird than the worm!
