THE SACRIFICIAL LEAF

Cold wind blows,

Rustling, rustling,

Released -----

Falling, falling,

Red , coppery, brown.

Falling, falling

To Mother Earth to rest,

Rotting, rotting

Nourished earth.

I think this poem is as far from being 'simple' as the outermost planets are from earth. It has so many layers of cognitive thought. What may seem simple to some is, for me, a very complex concept. It's surface meaning can be read as simple, but only if that's where the reader's mind wishes to stop, alf

Ah so it is autumn! I like this, it takes something that skips our mind that always happens around us, and makes it beautiful. That is hat poetry is in my eyes, making the little things beautiful. Great work! Bravo!
