A LIFE'S AT STAKE

A LIFE'S AT STAKE

A Poem by andrew mitchell

O Vampire, Vampire of the night!
There are no maidens for you tonight
So Vampire! Vampire! Don't come out,
Their blood won't be spilt, it's your shout.
You see Mr Dracula, your time is spent,
Meet your maker, you distinguished gent.
For when you and I meet face to face,
Lets discuss you and the human race.
And to the devil we'll drink a toast,
I'm sure you will find a formidable host,
For it's time to take your breath away,
And I'm so sorry it has to end this way.
So control your thirst. Stay home tonight.
Leave your coffin, I'll give you a fright.
For if I see your red eyes not forgetting your teeth,
I'll send you to your maker----- Hope you've made your wreath!

OOOhh this was dark and fun. I do not know where i sit on the whole vampires new and old. I loved Lost boys and Interview with a vampire but i guess they were still pretty boys so to speak. Either way this was a great write my friend!

Great flowing write, I agree with Coyote I like the old school vampires
but with all the movies that hit the box office they live again,
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

A interesting poem. Vampires may not appreciate. New world. Kids love the vampires. I like the old fashion ones. Scary and dangerous. Not young and pretty. I did like the flow of words leading to the good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
