GARGOYLES

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There's something about gargoyles
In the way they look and stare,
Like devil's disciples, they aim to scare.
Having a presence of menace
As they appear to look down,
Perched dark grey on the roof tops,
Grotesquely shaped, faces frowned.
For their images aren't attractive,
Yet they hold a grace of their own.
There's something about gargoyles,
Icons which protect your home.
