THE SHADOW IN THE BEDROOMA Poem by andrew mitchell
His open window invites the moon
To offer light to his darkened room And wide awake in bed he lies Until his dreams will have him fly. But wait! An evil shadow stalks the wall, Magnified by moonlight, it slowly strolls; Black, faceless, features blurred, It's presence felt, emotions stirred. Frozen with fear the shadow leaps out; On with the lights removing doubt To reveal a beetle moving on the shelf And a boy's mind making a fool of himself.
