THE LONERA Poem by andrew mitchell
A loner knows isolation well,
For he can sense coldness just by smell. He feels like a beacon way out to sea Away from the mainland, few people see. Riding the waves attracting attention; Sending people in other directions. And like a desert island on the sea He asks" Why cant people see past the trees To spend some time for the welcome is free?" How shallow they are, he cannot believe, And seeing people playing on the sand; He thinks of being beached amongst their clan. But never understood, he would swim away To a beacon at sea where he shall stay; Like a hermit crab alone in his shell, His only home .... he knows well.
