THE MENU FOR TODAY

A Poem by andrew mitchell

From where I sit
The light shines through
My bedroom window,
The garden, the view.
Its autumn now
With roses in bloom
And leaves whirl by
To their pending doom.
Falling to the ground
Where life begins
While clouds gather
From the sudden wind.
And sipping coffee
Watching the change,
The garden faces
Another deluge of rain.
And so my plans
To garden today
Are placed on hold
For a sunny day.
