A LOST LOVE THAT CAN ONLY BE RESURRECTED BY A DREAM

A LOST LOVE THAT CAN ONLY BE RESURRECTED BY A DREAM

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There are places that I go to
That only I can see
I cannot really explain them
Its a journey belonging to me.
Dreams of past memories
Dreams that relive my past
Dreams that take me to places
That are close to my heart.
A love that I long for
A love that has passed
A love lost in time
Trapped in my past.
There are places that I go to
That only I can see
I cannot really explain them
Its a journey belonging to me.
Trapped in yesterday
By a love that cannot be
There's no turning back;
My journey,.......... my destiny.
If only I could bring back
Yesterday into today
To continue... an unfinished journey
That belongs to me........ someday.

I enjoyed this poem alot
The places we all go to

A getaway and the sweetest of all escapes
It matters to return back and not allow our past pains take us away

I love this wise read of pure imagination and essentially getting away
and i got away reading it :)

Super ..... cool

Thank you for entering your poem into my competition.

I really really enjoyed it.

It read very well, the fluidity was great and every single word that you used was of importance, that is the one thing I adore about poetry in that you do not need many words to evoke a feeling or an opinion.

Again, thank you :)

Thank you so much ElizaB for your lovely review.
A beautiful work my friend. Soft with a haunting search within my mind as I follow your vision. There are thoughts from our past that only within our minds will we know. It cannot be explained, but you did a darn good job of trying. well, Done.

Thank you so much Willard and for dropping by!
I knew it all along Andrew, you are a deep and serious dreamer/thinker/spinner/poet/man.
I go to these places also, in a way. Not so much memory as memory filled and memory fueled but wholly new.

A lovely piece about longing for the past and the things we have lost on our journey though life.

A simply written, engaging poem, Andrew.

Thank you so much Doodley
I must say, this is one of the best poems I have read on self-reflection. Such exact conveyance of emotions through deft techniques of communication, loved reading it, Andrew. Read it twice, and sent a friend a request to read your poem, and am shelving this in my 'favorites'. This has touched me to the core.

Thank you for sharing a journey that belongs to you.
Best,
M.

Thanks Malika:):)
I enjoyed the sense of walk-to-infinity in the poem. I hardly can expect a life to be devoid of consistent evolution, however slow that may be. Good work.

You have dreaming on your mind at the present Andrew This has a sad tinge to it somehow as the protagonist reflects on much that has past.
