RUNNING FOR COVER

RUNNING FOR COVER

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The shadows decline
With the sun's caress
A changing of shifts
From the night's undress.
Now wrapped in warmth
The search light begins
Wandering the land
As the shadows cringe.
Running for cover
From sunlight so bright
They welcome the return
Of the dark of night.

Hi Andrew. This is another poem that is written with that flash of brilliance you keep beaming at the readers. I love this!!! I love the analogies, 'night's undress' and 'shadows cringe' they are just wonderful. Again, this poem flows smoothly and without any use of excess verbiage. Great writing and great reading, alf

Ok ok, I gave up on my shadow ideas. Looks like you've cornered the market anyway. Haha

Oh nice
I can just see night hues reeling in

The perfect clear skies

And a cup of tea
With your words on my balcony .....

That's beautiful. Really! Welcome.
The sun in your neck of the woods has a far greater impact than here. Our shadows welcome it lol!
Nicely described and observed.
