A SHORT LIFE IN THE LIFE OF A CANDLEA Poem by andrew mitchell
The life of a candle
Burning so bright Giving aid to those From that wick of light. Dancing so gently Its softness swirls To currents of air Its fragility exposed. Playing with darkness Flickering in the night In a void of darkness A small taper of light. For that wick of a candle Can burn so bright With periods of dormancy Prolonging its life. Later extinguished Snuffed out in the night The wick of a candle Fragile in its fight.
