A SHADOW OF ME

A SHADOW OF ME

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There's no-one around me
I'm all on my own
Except a shadow of me
Covering the ground:
And bonded together
Wandering around
With my shadow of me
Marking the ground.
I hear myself think
In silent surrounds
While that shadow of me
Never makes a sound.
A follower of me
This shadow of mine
'till I become in the end
A shadow with time.

Andrew love the last line

Our shadows in a way make a mark in time
Or can be part of time

Telling us its time to stay or go or hold position

Love this one

Hi Andrew Yowee! This is good. No, better than good. Who'd have thought a shadow could be so faithful. Loved this one, alf

so lonely... :( I like it.. but it stirs melancholia in me. I wish for the shadow, to share the surroundings with another one :)
