You Will Never FadeA Poem by Alyssa JayAbout how a girl meets a boy that changes her life. I guess.I still remember When I first laid eyes on you Your eyes were so white And an amazing shade of blue As you approached me My heart was beating quick What will I say to him? I think I’m becoming sick “Hi,” you said to me. Oh, how you speak! Your voice took my breath away And made my knees go weak I was shy at first I didn’t know what to say But you were so kind and sweet You could’ve waited all day! This blossomed into friendship And in no time, a romance But I still shutter at your beauty Or when I feel your glance You were always so dependable Always at my side Your jokes made me laugh And made me smile wide We were so in love And everything was great Until that one horrible day Where you met your fate A drunk driver hit the side Of our crappy working car “He died instantly,” the officer said “He hit his head on tar.” The pain nearly crushed me And my heart was now shattered It left a gaping hole in its place Because you really mattered I get through these sorrowful days By remembering the past I won’t let these memories of you fade In my heart, you will last © 2010 Alyssa JayAuthor's Note
