Individuality

Individuality

A Poem by Lucy
"

Is it all an illusion?

"

Can I promulgate my cogitations

In a way that won’t be trite or banal?

Do I have my own life and frustrations

Or do my words reflect feelings of all?

If I stumble then didn’t Adam fall?

If I’m strong then didn’t David conquer?

If I cry for loss, millions now bawl?

If I feel pride, my skills few to offer?

My thoughts are my own. Are they platitudes?

I am a clone alone left to despair.

For common ground brings me no gratitude,

If common ground means nothing new to share.

I am unique in body. In attitude.

But these old words will still waft in stale air.

Your handiwork is a loquacious one. Though despair not, it is unique and charming all the same.

Thank you!! I appologize for being verbose. It's definitely a habit I'm trying to break.
I really like the tone and word choice in this, it made it elaborate and gave the piece a certain elegance. Great read :)
