IndividualityA Poem by LucyIs it all an illusion? Can I promulgate my cogitations In a way that won’t be trite or banal? Do I have my own life and frustrations Or do my words reflect feelings of all? If I stumble then didn’t Adam fall? If I’m strong then didn’t David conquer? If I cry for loss, millions now bawl? If I feel pride, my skills few to offer? My thoughts are my own. Are they platitudes? I am a clone alone left to despair. For common ground brings me no gratitude, If common ground means nothing new to share. I am unique in body. In attitude. But these old words will still waft in stale air. © 2014 LucyAuthor's Note
