SlumberA Poem by LucySeparating the nightmare from the pleasant dream. In solace I find serenity’s sweet Succor divine of the free spotless mind, Until slumber’s caress for me to meet, Unsheathes its claws like knives sharp from the grind. With vigor, plunged into the darkness blind To stir around past and bring to present Secret pinings of the heart left confined, And continue inner turmoil’s descent. Ergo to find a way to circumvent, Lest sly terrors claim your last sanity, We find our consciousness we reinvent, In no vain hope to find humanity. To solace slumber and suppress the dark, And escape to pleasant dreams yet embarked. © 2014 LucyReviews
