Perception, My Dear

Perception, My Dear

A Poem by alyssakaye

Your words, they mean nothing.
It's your actions that scream the truth.
Self-control, trust, love; It's all a matter of perception,
and my eyes are a little too teary to see clearly.
My mind's a little too cloudy to think straight.
My walls were built so high no one could hear me screaming on the other side.
But you dismantled them, one brick at a time,
until I finally let you in.
So let's keep this game going, my dear.
It's cheap entertainment.
What's your next move?
I'm feeling pretty confident, and a lot like rebuilding.

Wow I love this! It's very creative especially when you paired it with the contradictions and imagery! Great write!
