His Princess

His Princess

A Poem by Alyssa Carlstrom

I never knew if someone prettier would come along and steal his heart
But I held strong, I couldn't let him see that shadow of fear
He would think me insecure once more
And I can't let that be so.

He says I'm his princess
That he'll build me a castle one day.
And though I'm a klutz, he says I'm as graceful as a dove.
What he sees in me, I know not.
For I am simply a girl with dreams and hopes.
Dreams that may never happen
And hopes that would take you aback.

But one thing remains.
I will somehow always feel like his princess no matter the day.
