Love

Love

A Poem by alyssa tucker

I have heard of love

But didn’t know it felt like a shove

Like a strong hit by a boxer’s glove.

I have felt the butterflies

That came upon me as quick as his eyes

I have felt the shakes

That made me fall like layered cakes

I have endless thoughts

That hurt like gun shots

I have felt love

And it has the power of a shove.

It is the kind of shove that you can’t understand.

And It is the kind of shove that puts you in another land.

But all this shove is the virtue of love.
