Walls

Walls

A Poem by A.A

The walls were built,
Untouched,
Invisible to their eyes,
Behind of a curtain of secrets.

A curtain of truth,
Of what wants to be,
Of what could be,
But hovers in the dust beyond the walls.

Walls built over years,
Walls built over a life,
Walls of protection,
Walls with secrets,
Walls that whisper spoken lies,
Built by fear of hurt.

They never knew,
The walls will stay,
The walls will hide the truth,
The secrets.

No love can fill the heart,
No kindness will fill the darkness,
These walls will stay,
These walls will hide,
Me.

Very relatable for me. I have my walls, too.
"These walls will hide
me."

Loved it :)
