Words

A Poem by A.A
"

How I feel in down times when words hurt most

"
They don't notice,
They don't know how brutal,
Innocent words truly are,
We smile as a mask,
Pretend they mean no more than a speck of dust in the air

They cut deep,
Deepening the pain of past hurt,
Discouraging the will to move forward,
Words carrying a meaning of their own,
Striking fast at the heart,
Leaving a scar that's impossible to forget,
Of our spirits,
In remembrance and celebration of kindness,
And love

But they don't understand,
How important words are,
They turn and hurt the ones you love,
Care for the words you choose,
Because you don't understand them like the one that bare them.
