I remember

I remember

A Poem by Alyaffa London
"

Based on a real experience

"
I remember last year, with a miserable cry
I wanted to run, I wanted to die
And in all the moments, the sun in my eye
The feeling weighed heavy, a readied goodbye

Last night, I shared how I fought for my life
How I held on to hope to brighten the light
Then Diablo appeared, and death did arrive
He threatened to take me, no help was in sight

Insidious doom, a roll on the die
The strength that I’ve gathered was low in supply
A gun in his hand, a gun to my mind
The gate and the door I struggled to pry

I remember last night, with a miserable cry
Terrible terror, tumultuous time
The moon in the sky, I felt so alive
I said “Please don’t kill me, I don’t want to die”
