The Scarlet Letter J

The Scarlet Letter J

A Poem by Aziz Luther

Love, to me has always stayed in fairy tales
The myths of angels and of men,
The tales of gods and then,
Love, to me has come when hatred fails,
And I look upon what it could be like
If all was well to the very end,
But love has been a whisper in the night
A foe to the light, not a lover but just a friend
And as lovely as the sound is
I want to see it in its purest
And the sound brings out the loudness
But I believe the sight will cure it
But you prefer the mirage to the real thing
Or the rooftop view to that of the basement ceiling.
