While You Were Gone

While You Were Gone

A Poem by Aziz Luther
"

A poem about time, and how one progresses as it passes.

"

There was yesterday,

There was where I thrived in pain,

Where I sang melodies to a girl gone,

And my fear was, forever being alone

Here is today,

The feelings are still the same,

I sing the blues to a gentle soul named Rose,

And my fear is she may never come to know of whom I composed.

I sometimes long for you,

Even as my love for you slowly fades into oblivious,

I see you among the stars, which are the brightest in my sleep,

You still are at the corner of my universe

I built a spaceship to send me to you in Mars
