Don't surprise me in the shelter, Your gifts won't be much to me there. Like a prayer, hard to measure I'll pay less attention with you there.
Don't surprise me at my house, For I may be elsewhere, Both in body and mind, Trying to find Jesus with a prayer.
Don't be surprised when I leave, In the middle of the night. Don't be jealous or feel deceived, Trust in me, as I in you.
