When Summer met FallA Poem by Aziz LutherThe mistakes I've made
It began in the later part of Spring
The time the last of the birds where up to sing Water from the stream fresh and the last to be seen This moment I drank from the fountains of her youth Hoping to be renewed hoping to cleanse myself with truth Or simply rid of the lies Enjoy the last of the clear blue skies Look into the clearest of views Before the suns scorches into my eyes Summer has arrived, Always loved her but not this time She had an extra ray of sun penetrate my skin And the light led me blind The heat and no where to hide Shame put on the light all I have left is pride I was so distracted by her torture Dried up, laid on the dry ground hoping for water But all I got was I told ya Good boys don't do bad on the roller Up my head swirling are vultures Watching and waiting for me to fall in a deep sleep Yet I move to fall another day Or fall at the end of summers long day I rarely get to see desert rain She only shows me the hot days, the pain Wait I missed the bus that takes me out today To meet the lovely miss Fall of the Fall Who invited me to a royal ball But the overheated summer has prevented me to go I missed a chance to go to the best Fall Ball © 2013 Aziz Luther |
