Journey to Forever

Journey to Forever

A Poem by Aziz Luther

Forever better have an answer in which never seem to not know
The future better be prettier than the present, more glamorous than the past
Because I look at the rusty past
I see the crunchy moments that became a nightmare of a present
So now I am told to take a leap of faith because forever has a name
But seeing what was and what is should I question what is to come?
I just see myself as one of the animals in the farm
Only difference being I see beyond the hay and the barn
Some call out stepping out of the matrix
I just call it out of a bad dream and into a worse nightmare
Picture a bridge made of rope as dying hope
I'm supposed to blindly trust and walk across
Bridge is like 100 years old
Plus I can't see because of too much fog
So I should have a leap of faith like a frog
Trust in tomorrow after a mess of a yesterday and today
Forgive my unwillingness to believe out of 12 I'm Thomas
I haven't run yet like Jonah but I think about it even playing dumb like Homer
Worse is that forever changes with every single choice I make
Forever echoes from across the bridge in every direction far ahead
