Charity Sale

Charity Sale

A Poem by A.M. Everlasting
"

It's easy to lose sight of the greater plan.

"
If there were a sale on charity-
A thirty-percent discount.
Buy yourself some clarity!
A low price for that amount!

Would that line roll out the door?
Would people camp and wait?
Any chance to buy some more
To ensure entrance through the Gate?

Then say the sale just ended:
Would people lose their interest?
Forget the hearts they mended
Or the many lives they blessed?

Would they turn their eyes away
From the aisle of God’s plan?
Would they so easily stray
And forget their fellow man?

Would the next big sale arise
And take all their attention?
Would their buy into the lies
And sell their own redemption?

There is no sale on charity
You could help someone for free
Today it's such a rarity
To give up our time and sweet money
