Him

Him

A Poem by Lauren Beth

His scent lingers, it’s comforting,
But soon a memory.

His voice rings loudly, it’s echoing,
But only in my head.

His touch I feel on skin, caressing,
But solely in my dreams.

His laughter I hear, it’s enchanting,
But in my imagination.

His lips pressed on mine, trembling,
But just an illusion.

His smile I can see, it’s shining,
But suddenly goes dark.

His love so strong and true, lingering,
But no longer here.

Wow I think it is great... it is simple but really delivers the pain and sorrow in every verse... it is so potent for being short... I would leave as is.

About
I enjoy writing poetry, usually just what comes to me. I write for me, it's like just something that I need to get out. Whatever hits me at the moment I start jotting down, on sticky notes, napkins.... more..
