Misanthropic

Misanthropic

A Poem by alternative_be

Misanthropic

Exploring my messed up misanthropic mind
Filled witch cluttered
Self fulfilling prophecies
The cat dragged in
Mittens looking for kittens
Astray from the once
Well kept path to a wishing well
Hidden under a long lost stone
Killed the butterflies in my stomach
Upset by the remembrance of
Stolen dreams
Will come true
As me myself and I rise
From the ashes
To be the Phoenix
I was destined to be

Like the sound of the first line and the confusion of the mittens/kittens but the key thing is the optimism at the end of the poem.

Great sense of renewal at the end...esp like the sound of the first line and the image of the cluttered mind and the confusion of mittens/kittens. But in the end it is a very optimistic poem.
