One Hundred Words
Challenge me to write
A daily ritual
Normally easily achievable
I now am wondering
Does this really work On winter mornings
In frosty parts of the world
That prevent my brain from
Thinking straight while birds
Are picking troubling minds
For bread and cheese too
Ponds frozen
No drinks today
Water has gone away
Hidden under ice
Acting as mirror
Reflecting despair
Hunger creeping
Beaks cracking up
Time running out
Waiting whether human’s
Wasting remains
There once was breakfast
Eggs, bacon
Pigeon’s feast
Spreading news
Neighborhood feuds
Sparrow, pigeon, blackbird
Like free goodies
Ready, steady, go!
Finch, blue jay, crow
Enjoy!
