A Poem by alternative_be
"

Have you ever wondered about what makes the so called sane 'healthy' and the so called 'insane' mentally ill? These last few weeks I have been wondering...

"

S a n i t y

So you think you are sound of mind
And body too for you are the fool that has
Never been able to comprehend the
Inner dwellings under the skulls of those
That you will never be able to understand because
You are supposed to be so … sane

This is so intense and you are so right, sometimes we are quick to judge people for their actions and think right away they must be crazy... we here people say they have talked to God and some say noway you must be crazy yet they believe God exists so why not believe he talks to some. If we see someone walking down the street smiling and dancing around we would call them insane well how about they are just enjoying life... it's all these crazy standards that "Society" creates that seem to determine whether someone is crazy... to tell the truth then I'd rather be insane and enjoy life... Boy you really got me thinking today.

The irony in sanity is quite appealing :)

Sanity has become one of those watered down words in our language. It's used so often that its meaning becomes blurred and overgeneralized. Insanity is terrifying, complete loss of attachment. Sanity is merely the absence of insanity. We think it's fun to deem ourselves insane because we don't understand the implications. We would never want to spend a minute of time in the mind of someone with mental illness.

Technically, I like this crostic because you don't compromise meaning for starting the line with the right letter. You've chosen the right words and the poem flows, although the fifth line is redundant, saying precisely what the third line had said. I'd search more for a line that graduates from the point to make the poem stronger.

I have to agree with Dale --
a slight twist to the left or right and we yell out "crazy!".

I've often said this in the past and will continue to say this forward--
who draws the lines between sane and insane.... and are they sane?
If yes, who determined that? lol

Yet another one of our vicious cycles and another judgment passed.
I've stopped listening to what others think of me -- because they are
not qualified to decide who I am. ;) I am.

Short -- yet brilliant. Loved this Denise!!!

Insanity give the illusion of hope, while sanity is just cruel.

I like the way you created it from a word. Is there a name for that style?
