I agree with this a lot. I enjoy reading others poems and writing because sometimes I feel and see what their going through and I love to help if I can. I also love the way different people write.I believe reading others poems are very serious because it comes from what there thinking or feeling at that moment sometimes. thank you for sharing this with me . karen

You make a good point and it fits the acrostic nicely. As for the subject, for me it is a two step process. I tend to review in the objective and rate in the subjective. That is to say I review on the technical merits and rate on how well I like it. It is easy to make sonnet that is technically perfect, it is another matter to make one that is technically perfect that has emotion.
I never fear hurting someone's feelings. It is never my goal. My only intent is to give a honest critique for content, improvement and overall enjoyment. As a poet, I expect it from other poets and I try to live up to that expectation myself.
Hello there, I came around to see you. Now I see this poem. Rewiewing is one thing. Rating is another one.
With a review I bring a a text into relation with me, and what I say about the text is like ...making a connection with my feelings. Rating is sending out 200 reading requests and hope that at least 20 readers will review and rate with 100 % .....so my poem appears in the top writing section. And, I don't give a s**t about it. Well, I learnt. It is a popularity choise but not neccessarily a quality choise! I don't mind, it is just a system what it is.
I agree with Kees. If I don't care for something I read, I simply move to the next. That rarely happens however, unless it's horrible (lol) because I believe all creativity is good and I don't believe in critism.. I believe in encouragement. Yes, many will argue that "constructive" critism is good, but I don't agree. I don't think any critism is good unless it is specifically asked for, and even then I strongly hesitate. What I percieve to be mediocre someone else may view as a masterpiece. It's perception and mine isn't any more or less valuable than the next person's. Therefore, it is my opinion that encouragement and positive reinforcement creates a stronger belief system in the writer, thus creating a better writer.
Awesome content and very nicely put together I might add!
I quite agree. I think I am a very fair reviewer- I never cut anybody up and am always constructive. If a poem is really truly awful, I simply withold comment and move on to the next.
