Stone ColdA Poem by Sarah RoehrigFor anyone battling with a hard stone of a being
We all want a home
Something to stand upon Some seek a mountain that stands alone; the strongest and mightiest of all Able to withstand the greatest storms A set of cold eyes that never blink Eyes that see into the dark depths of the soul I suppose some prefer a stone One that stands alone and can stay where it is thrown Something you can pick up and hold And fits into the small of your hands When you are fighting love , you have already lost the battle When I look into your eyes I see no stone looking back I am lost in the depths of your creation As you turn me away with your gaze, I sink further into myself Losing my soul. Losing control. Losing my home. © 2016 Sarah Roehrig |
