Moral of a Storm

Moral of a Storm

A Poem by Sarah Roehrig
"

The darkness that lingers . . .

"
You taunt the selfless part of me,
Ready to Swallow the evil that is breeding within.

An invitation into the inner world of my soul is denied,
I am afraid you will ask how much darkness lives inside.
And my body can not tolerate the pool of misery in which it swims.

I am afraid I may Steal the light in you,
While Spinning the brutal nature of man into a web, an angel can depict the very essence of truth.

Can you trust my eyes to hold you,
Can you trust my Soul to know you

No nothing is easy.
And people they say, will come and go,
Left with only traces of Sunlight, waiting to awaken the Soul

You are very in touch with your "inner being" as you so eloquently write about the soul. Great description you give. I like how you ended this piece, "Left with only traces of Sunlight, waiting to awaken the Soul".
Nice job.
