Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

A Poem by Angelica
"

I wrote this for an English Assignment and shocked myself with it.

"

The Weeping Willow some say is beautiful within nature,

Others will say it is an insult.

Similar to me, in which, this society like the divine nature it is,

Have its unpleasant things about it also.

Those things that humans dwell upon,

Force society the way it is.

               A cruel and unforgiving world,

Yet everyone stills wants bigger and better.

The cycle which takes place is such as the cycle of life,

Birth, life, death.

We are born as a miracle,

Where we soon turn into a burden.

We live life and push through the hardships,

Holding back the tears of shame, regret, anger and joy.

We leave the earth leaving our mark,

Leaving behind the wise, gifts, and power.

               Similar to nature,

Nature is planted, grows and is soon cut off from age or earthly needs.

               Though the Weeping Willow,

As divine as it is.

Is looked at in many different ways.

Each spot a different perspective, a different way of thinking.

               And as humans,

As unique as we may come

We are bound to be judged and persecuted for our views, thoughts, opinions, and actions,

The impact is left, through our reaction to it all.

               We as humans,

Choose to do this to each other and then think wrongly of it.

               But we as humans,

Always do the exact same thing to nature.

               Nature,

Which God created

               Nature,

Which holds the world’s beauty.

               And in nature,

There’s that Weeping Willow.

Being treated the same way as humans.

Yet hidden beneath it, is its natural beauty.

And that is all that should matter.

I almost scrapped this a few times when I was writing, but I am so happy that I didn't. Love the feedback! Thank you for reading!
