Mental Block

Mental Block

A Poem by Kelsey
"

I wrote this while having trouble writing another poem, which makes little sense.

"
Mental block,
please stop,
clouding up my head.

I've yet to say,
my thoughts today,
I've been quiet instead.

I've you to blame,
my mental block,
for clouding up my brain.

You kill my words,
I fight the urge,
Oh, but you still remain.

What a wonderful poem. It's short and sweet, and it succinctly conveys the frustration and dejection we feel because of this horrible affliction. Isn't it strange that, even when we can't "write", we can still write about this? I don't know if it's the same way with others, but I've done the same thing myself. It boggles my mind.

This was really nice. It had a wonderful flow.

I like how you wrote a poem about not being able to find words. Interesting way to inspire yourself :)

Thank you (:
Funny to write about not being able to write. I love the irony in this and also the poem itself is a call to all writers. Nice job.

Ugh i get mental block allll the time! Thats why i just stop and not linger. The more you linger and try with a block, the less you will like the outcome. Let the words come to you. Just like in this poem!

You're right, it's so frustrating though. Sometimes all you need to do is write and clear your head,.. read more
Sometimes we get so bombarded with thoughts and it triggers emotions and we just get choked out to write.. I love the way you expressed the block itself.. You are an amazing writer..xo
